Why we are here.

To start off I am going to introduce myself and my food allergic child. My son is the reason I stated this (also many friends asking for my info, and recipes helped).

*anything with a star by it will have a link at the end to explain what it is.

To start off Wyatt was born at 38 weeks, I had Pre Eclampsia* and PUPPS*  It was a normal delivery, a little over 12 hrs. He was 7LBS 12 OZ, and 21 Inches. He had high billi levels making him jaundice, and he also was very week and had to be feed threw a tube for about a month. He recovered and was exclusively breast feed for the first 14 months of his life.

I first noticed something was wrong when Wyatt was a few days old. He was covered in a pimply rash all over his body, his PCP said it was "newborn" rash and it would go away, to just put lotion on. I did put lotion on religiously for weeks, and nothing changed it just go worse. In desperation I took my then 2 month old to the ER for a rash. The Doc took one look at him and said ECZEMA*! They gave him a hefty dose of benadryl and with in an hour he looked better (not perfect by no means, but better) AHHH!!! mom fail. I switched to a pediatrician that day. The pediatrician said it was most likely milk and had me take it out of my diet. It helped but wasn't perfect, so he sent us to a dermatologist. She had me start a treatment of 1/2 cortizon cream 1/2 aquaphor lotion and to slather him in it twice a day. That also "helped" but he still had issues.

Wyatt continued to have rash's, vomiting mass amounts of milk. I called it the hic up barfs. It was like he would hic up and barf until there was nothing left in him, and have tummy issues for quit some time. He also kept on getting ear infections. At 6 months old, my little sister and I went into one of those stake houses with peanuts on the floor. We where in there maybe 10 min, and every inch of exposed skin was covered in a strawberry red rash, so out we went straight to the ER. Again he got benadryl and was told he had a peanut allergy (duh).

At one year old his pediatrition did an Igg blood test for other allergies so we could start solid foods. He reacted to, eggs, milk, peanuts, pork, and beef, that was it. I started baby food and he just got sicker and sicker. So they put him on allimentiem formula (fun). And I just feed him things like potato's and chicken.

At 4 they do a poke test and he reacts to 94 of the 99 foods they tested him for. WOW now this explains things. This is where my cooking skills began to get tested. Now at 8 we have had food challenges and, trial and error on what he can and can not eat. With that said he is very small and not growing properly due to lack of complete nutrition so his allergist started him on EO28 Splash by NEOCATE and hypoallergenic formula supplement that is crazy expensive.

He has be diagnosed with EOE*, FPIES*, ANA*, DERMATITIS*, CONTACT DERMATITIS*, and many other types of reactions.
